Thank you for considering a volunteer role with us!

We are a volunteer-based organization and rely on our volunteers to maintain and operate our Adoption Center, provide care for our Foster Program cats, educate the community, provide support for spay/neuter and Trap Neuter Return (TNR) efforts, and fill crucial skills-based roles. By volunteering, you will be making a paws-itive difference in the lives of our feline friends.

In-Person Roles

Because of the training and responsibilities involved for our in-person volunteer positions, we do not have drop-in, short-term, floating, or occasional positions.

Shelter volunteers support daily shelter operations by working with cats and humans at the shelter. The Shelter Caregiver, Shelter Greeter, Adoption Specialist, and Enrichment Specialist roles are in this category. Veterinary volunteers help our vet staff to meet the medical needs of the cats in our care. The Vet Aide and Medication Caregiver roles are in this category.

There is a mandatory in-person orientation for all in-person roles. When completing your application, please make sure that you reach the orientation sign-up step. (There is a video about cat behavior just prior to the orientation sign-up page.) Registration opens up three weeks prior to orientation. If you are applying before orientation sign-up has become available, we recommend marking your calendar for when orientation sign-up will open up, as orientation can fill up quickly!

Foster and Remote Roles

Foster Caregivers welcome cats into their homes. At Feline Rescue, our foster program serves cats with special needs and/or chronic medical conditions, elderly cats, nursing/pregnant queens, underage kittens, and other cats that are not able to tolerate the shelter environment. Foster Caregivers complete an online orientation and participate in a phone interview with our Foster Coordinator.

Remote volunteers support a variety of different Feline Rescue programs, including our Cat Claw Clipping Clinics, Community Outreach & Services program, and our social media presence. For the majority of these roles, you will fill out an online application and have a phone interview with the role’s supervisor.
